Since the successful Miami Music Week 2018, I’ve been excited about going back to experience the variety and vibes of the underground electronic music scene, as it materializes in Miami every March. With events that range from a rooftop bar to a giant festival, and music that varies from chill-out to techno to EDM, there is no shortage of options when it comes to making the most out of a mission to Miami. As a discerning electronic music fan there may be a lot of options that I can knock off my list, but that still leaves plenty to fulfill my desire for the good stuff. While it’s hard to narrow down, these particular events have stood out to me as best representing the reasons why I love this music and its community, not only because of the FRISKY family members but because they showcase the essence of the underground.
Monday March 25th – Sunday March 31
With events all week long, Do Not Sit On The Furniture will be going non-stop to bring the intimate DJ experience to Miami’s lovers of the deep and distinctive.

Wednesday March 27th – Friday March 29th
Having had a great time at last year’s Sounds of the Underground event I was looking forward to seeing what they had to offer this year. What I found was a huge expansion that’s covering 3 nights in a massive South Beach club, representing the hard-hitting dance-floor filling range of dark techno to deep progressive. With a combination of old-school and new-school DJs, the team behind More Volume spent a long time planning the lineup that would showcase their own preferences while appealing to a widespread crowd.
The owner of More Volume, Joseph Musgrave, has been hosting events for over 20 years, wanting to share his passion for the music ever since he first discovered it. For him this event shows just how big the scene has grown, becoming more widely accepted and even mainstream as people discover the power of electronic music. In its third year of existence “Sounds of the Underground” showcases just how next level it has gotten with 2 floors of DJs so even more people can experience the music they love. The house & techno crowd can enjoy DJs like DJ Sneak, Agent Orange, Marco Bailey, and Kaiser Souzai B2B Kaiser Disco while progressive fans can find artists like Darin Epsilon, Jerome Isma-ae and Quivver representing in their own space.
Enhancing the club, they will be adding additional production equipment and moving the DJ booth to the floor to keep the music feeling up close & personal. The combination of local and global DJs spread out across 3 days means there’s so much to hear, and an amazing experience to be had at any time. As More Volume team member and DJ Joseph Levine, who will be playing as Yosev Dov and Decotrax, shared with me, “Attendees should expect to experience a divine showcase of music history.”
Wednesday March 27th
Bespoke Musik‘s Baez will be showcasing his emotional, eclectic sound as the sun goes down over Miami, aboard the Musette Yacht. With headliners Guy Gerber and DJ Tennis, the Paradigm Sunset Cruise is sure to be something special, setting the tone for the rest of the week with deep & sexy house music vibes.
Friday March 29th
Get into the real Miami Grooves with a day time event from Bespoke Musik Co-Founder, Bedouin who joins one of their favorites, Lee Burridge, along with the amazing Hoj and Newman for an afternoon and evening of pure bliss that is All Day I Dream at the Delano Beach Club.
Ending the night right on Friday means a showcase of the best of Progressive with the masters Nick Warren & Hernan Catteneo and featuring Jonathan Fratamico, DJ Gustin and Soundexile‘s Baunder who will be starting the 7-hr event off on the right beat. Treehouse Miami has been the destination for exceptional underground throughout the year, and a must-see for lovers of the Progressive, Melodic & Deep.
Here’s my plan…. so far. Who’s in & what else? 😉 Let me know!
