Celebrating 100 episodes of Perspectives with Darin Epsilon

Lauren Krieger

Darin Epsilon takes us through 100 episodes of Perspectives

Perspectives has been a leader in underground sounds for years, a continuous go-to for quality mixes and live recordings from host Darin Epsilon, as well as featuring an all star list of guest DJs from around the world. Having just reached its landmark 100th episode, this definitive show has brought creative, memorable, and distinctive mixes to the airwaves month after month, and year after year.

With a new EP “Thousand Winds” just released, a summer tour that sees him traveling across North America, and a busy upcoming production schedule, we were glad to catch up with Darin to talk about his experience building Perspectives:

What has been your favorite part of hosting Perspectives?

Being able to spread my love of deep and melodic sounds with others around the world.

Sharing incredible guest sets by (alphabetical): Christian Smith, Cid Inc, Darren Emerson (Underworld), Dave Seaman, Dosem, Dusty Kid, Eelke Kleijn, Gabriel & Dresden, Guy J, Jody Wisternoff (Way Out West), John Graham aka Quivver, Marc Marzenit, Martin Roth, Max Cooper, Max Graham, Pig & Dan, Robert Babicz, Sandra Collins, and so many more!

What qualities do you think have kept consistent from episode 1 – 100?

I’m very particular about how my sets flow and progress.

Every mix takes you on a journey and is meticulously crafted from start to finish.  I spend week after week searching for the best possible tracks to play.  People don’t realize how much time is required to put a show together!

Is there anything that has changed?

The genres of music have occasionally changed.  The industry is continually evolving and and it’s my duty to be at the forefront of what’s currently trending.

In the early 2000’s I was playing a lot of deep and atmospheric Progressive House bordering on Progressive Trance.  The mid 2000’s was when Electro House took over the world.  Fast forward a decade later and I now spin an eclectic blend of Progressive, Deep House, Tech House, and Techno.

What are your plans for the future of Perspectives?

I would love to feature even bigger guests and continue inspiring generations of listeners around the globe!

I’m incredibly grateful to have such amazing listeners these past 10 years, and thank you friskyRadio for always being there and supporting me!

Here’s to 100 more Darin!
