TLDR: Quivver brings his finely tuned sound to the airwaves with premiere of Controlled Substance.
Quivver is well known to fans of electronic music, his name synonymous with quality, technical, and thoughtful productions since the early 90s. John Graham, the man behind Quivver, has been influencing the scene from the beginning, finding high levels of success under a variety of monikers and styles. From the start, he quickly gained support from friends and top DJs including Sasha, Pete Tong, Oakenfold, and Digweed, while his releases under the moniker Skanna were championed by Drum & Bass royalty Fabio, Grooverider, and Doc Scott. After the Quivver tracks “Saxy Lady” and “Twist and Shout” received massive plays around the world, he joined Perfecto in 1995 where he released the epic “Believe in Me” and began producing with Parks & Wilson as Tilt, a trio that created some of the most legendary tracks of the era. In the late 90’s John solidified his place as a legend in progressive with timeless tracks that defined the movement: Stoneproof – “Everything’s Not You” (VC Recordings) and Space Manoeuvres – “Stage One” (Hooj Choons). In 2000, John brought back Quivver with hit records “One Last Time” and “She Does”, and in 2003 he established his own label Boz Boz, which saw many fantastic releases including a personal favorite of mine: “Space Manoeuvres Part 3”.
As a multi-talented songwriter, vocalist, DJ, and producer, it is clear to see that John Graham has truly made an impact on the progression of electronic music throughout his career. As a DJ, Quivver has toured the world, performing such legendary venues as Glastonbury, UK, Pacha, Buenos Aries, and Avalon, LA with a highly sought after residency at Twilo, NYC, proving that his skill as a DJ is just as great as his accomplishments as a producer. This influence extends beyond the electronic music world however, where he has composed and had his music licensed for movies, TV shows, and video games including Frank Miller’s “The Spirit”, CSI-NY, and the Call of Duty series.
As Quivver, John Graham continues his global domination with the launch of a brand new show on FRISKY: Controlled Substance. Expect to go deep into twisted and tech fueled sonic journeys, driven by a DJ who knows the music inside and out. Not limited by genre, Quivver encompasses pure versatility and creativity, and each episode will be a fresh perspective on the current sound. Premiering March 16th at 4PM EST [convert timezone] Controlled Substance is a show you will definitely want to be tuning into every month, ready to hear to where Quivver will take the music next.
