TLDR: Subsidence Sounds features Dale Middleton’s masterful sound and an all star list of guest DJs.

Dale Middleton has the ability to always bring something special to his music, whether touring around the globe from Amsterdam to Argentina, or releasing tracks on popular labels such as Sudbeat, Parquet, Perspectives Digital, and Dopamine. Beginning his career influenced by the French house scene, Dale swiftly worked his way into the spotlight by showcasing his distinctive style of mixing and production. He quickly gained support from some of the biggest artists of the time, DJs such as Sasha & Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, and Carl Cox, grabbing their attention through his own driving techno style filled with strong melody and complementary bass lines. His consistent and characteristic sound has continued to drive his career, enabling successful tours and appearances at events around the world, as well as a high demand for his producing and remixing talents.

By always moving forward with the music and creating a stand-out and persistently stylish sound no matter the genre, Dale has been able to gain a large international following through his Subsidence Sounds show. Featuring his own mix for an hour, followed by an hour from a special guest, Subsidence Sounds has been bringing the best underground electronic music from a wide range of perspectives for over 2 years. Past guests have included Guy J, Dusty Kid, Robert Babicz, Nick Muir, Marcelo Vasami, and a long list of DJs known for their unique sounds and exceptional contributions to the industry. Starting January 20th, Subsidence Sounds is finding a new home at FRISKY, a perfect fit to bring the deep, creative, and intelligent electronic music to eager audiences around the world.dalemiddleton

Catching up with Dale Middleton, we learn a little bit more about creating for the radio and what’s coming up next:

How would you describe your music in 3 words?

I always find it hard to answer these kind of questions especially when it comes to musical genre, so I would say: Underground Electronic Music

What can we expect to hear on the new Subsidence Sounds?

Well the show has been going 2 years now, so it’s great to be having it aired on Frisky Radio. The show itself is a 2 hour show, featuring an hours mix from myself in the first half and an exclusive Guest Mix in the second. The Guest Artists are all guys who I love and really respect within the scene, previous guests have included Guy J, Robert Babicz, Nick Muir, Ramon Tapia, Dusty Kid, Stelios Vassiloudis & more. The guest on this month’s opening show on frisky will be Pedro Aguiar who is a super talented Producer and we have managed to get a rare exclusive DJ mix from him including a stack of new material of his coming out on Lost & Found and Flow Vinyl.

What is your favorite part of creating a radio mix?

The thing I like most about creating a mix for the show is it’s my show so I can do what ever I like musically. I’m hugely influenced by the producers around me who are always sending me brand new tracks of theirs, also I love digging out tracks online or older ones from my own music collection to really give my set an edge. My sets playing out in clubs/festivals generally go towards the tougher melodic techno style if it’s a peak time set, the difference is with the radio show I can take it down a different route and open with some really chilled deeper tracks building throughout the set which is something I always love to do.

What is one of your highlight experiences from last year, and what are you looking forward to most in 2015?

Last year was a great year for me, highlights for me are always the gigs. Being able to play out my music across the world to clubs full of people who really want to hear exactly what I’m doing is what really gives me the buzz. With this said the highlight of 2014 has to be playing in Argentina at Club MOD for Unnamed, that night was also special as Marcelo Vasami and I played B2B for the first time. In 2015 I’m looking forward to releasing some brand new music of mine on Parquet, Sudbeat, System as well as a host of gigs which will be getting announced soon.

Subsidence Sounds will be premiering on FRISKY January 20th @ 10AM EST [convert timezone] with guest DJ Pedro Aguiar & will be bringing top quality sets from the best talent in the underground electronic music industry every month!
